Sorry for the delay in posting.
Despite my love of personal writing and big mouth, I am at heart an introvert, and when overwhelmed I need to recharge in silence.
My stress started two weeks ago, when I decided to start a new job, sponsor a charitable event, host my son's six-year-old birthday party at our house, and have my period all in the same week. On their own, each of these events was welcome and wonderful, but I was maxed out and the blog suffered.
Last week we had sickness and pestilence at our house (ninth and tenth cases of strep, pink eye, and my own terrible cold.) Then my sister-in-law's father fell gravely ill and my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Blogging was the least of my worries.
After recovering (healthwise) and regrouping (mentally) I'm back to my old friend, the blog. It's a sign of progress, and it's nice to be back.
Today I've got a smiling (swearing?) through tears story. Here's hoping for lighter fare in the near future -- my kingdom for a good potty training story; this life and death stuff really sucks!
