I am now a Coupon Mom!!! Hear me roar!
As with most fads in my life, this newest one is inspired by Auntie Oprah. This one might actually save me money, for a change!
Yesterday Oprah interviewed a "Coupon Mom" who has saved $72,000 by using coupons. This lady went shopping and bought something like $137 of groceries for $40.
Since I like money, I decided to investigate further.
I pulled the Sunday circulars from the recycling pile, and lo and behold, the first thing I saw was that Bloom supermarket (do you shop there? Me neither!!!) is having a triple coupons weekend this Friday through Sunday.
This serendipitous find inspired me to search for manufacturer's coupons, and I found $30.95 in savings (plus a free roll of recycled toilet paper!) for items that I would like to buy. When I triple that at Bloom that's a theoretical savings of $92.85.
I won't really save that much since some of the items don't cost triple the coupon price, but I should get some things for free. One of these finds, a $5 off coupon for L'Oreal Bare Naturale paraben-free mascara, thrills me to bits since I just paid almost $20 (on sale!) for some Dr. Hauschka organic crap that smears down my cheeks.
I'll let you know how it goes, but so far it's been kind of fun and only took about twenty minutes of reading and clipping.
For my next trick I will make my two-year-old sit still in the shopping cart while I search for the coupon items.

Saw your triple coupon post and scurried out to relive my coupon clipping days.... I ended up with about $50 worth of stuff I wouldn't usually buy, but will enjoy using for about $20. And now maybe I'll blog about it too. Thanks!
